Annual Testing
The Water and Wastewater Board of the City of Madison performs smoke testing once a year during the months of July and August to identify the sewer lines within the City sewer system that have been damaged and are allowing infiltration of rain water into the system. The tests are conducted by injecting a mist into the sewer system main lines. The mist is non toxic, leaves no residue, and creates no fire hazard. Customers that are in the area of the testing will be notified prior to the testing being done. If there are any problems detected during the testing,on a customers property, they will be notified. If we can answer any additional questions please contact us at (256) 772-0253 x 100 or email us.
