BUDGET BILLING PROGRAM
The Water and Wastewater Board of the City of Madison is pleased to introduce Budget Billing as a new service to our customers. This free service may not be for everyone but we invite you to consider whether Budget Billing of your utility service fits your needs.
We hope that the following answers your questions about Budget Billing.

WHAT IS BUDGET BILLING?

The Budget Billing program of the Water and Wastewater Board of the City of Madison is a utility bill payment plan that equalizes monthly payments based on previous billing history. It is designed to allow customers to pay less during the high usage months (May - October) by paying extra during low use months (November - April), thus making consistent payments year round.

WILL BUDGET BILLING SAVE ME MONEY?

No, Budget Billing will not save you money. However, it will allow you to budget your utility payments evenly during the year, avoiding seasonal fluctuations.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Budget billing is available to residential customers who have established a billing history by living at your present address for at least one year. It is not available, however, for residential irrigation meters.

WHEN CAN I APPLY?

You can apply at any time. The account holder must sign all applications for Budget Billing.

WILL MY PAYMENTS EVER CHANGE?

Probably, depending on the consistency of your usage. The Board also reserves the right to make adjustments in the amount of your Budget Billing based on changes in your usage during the year. You will be notified of any change when it occurs. You can keep up with your monthly debit or credit amount by simply referring to your bill.

WHAT IF I TRY BUDGET BILLING AND DON'T LIKE IT?

Customers on budget billing may discontinue it by notifying the Board's offices in writing of a request to discontinue the service. You will be billed for any unpaid balance on your next bill. If you have a credit balance, it will be applied toward your next bill.

If you would like to apply or have a question please call us at 772-0253 x 107.

BANK DRAFT PROGRAM

You will need to fill out a Bank Draft application and provide us with a voided check or deposit slip to ensure proper coding of your Water Board account. You may handle this by mail or visiting our Office at 101 Ray Sanderson Drive.
While on drafts, we will continue to mail a Water Bill just like the one you are currently receiving. The only difference will be the words WILL BE DRAFTED ON DUE DATE under the services billed. The balance owed will be withdrawn from your account on the due date or the next business day.
For additional information call (256) 772-0253. To print out the bank draft form Click Here

SECONDARY METERS

Secondary meters for outside water use (watering grass, etc.) are encouraged. Water consumption on a secondary meter is not charged for sewer. Customers will be required to make a separate deposit. If the meter has no consumption you will not receive the minimum charge.

Customers are encouraged to turn off and on their water meter(s) for repairs to their system(s) and during periods when the systems are not going to be used. If the service is called for there is a $35.00 service charge on your bill. After hours $75.00.
